The end of the Anthropocene Era. Within 50 solar cycles, planet wide plague reduces what was once called humanity to a secondary species. Massive alterations in climate render the atmosphere perfect for the rise of a true alpha species. Humanity is at first enslaved, then systematically devolved for purposes of it's new master. Enter the Cockroach Dominion.

The noise of the world has changed. Where once were wailing and rumbling, now only a shifting mass, and a chittering of chitinous limbs against every surface. Words can no longer be heard, but only transmitted through antennae. All movement is a dark mass, squirming and oozing. Enveloping the dead and sometimes even the living.
