Forgotten errors from bygone ages
Distracted by words of sovereign mages
Abandoned fields for walls of stone
indifferently callous and bleeding alone
blazed across my memories
cemetery moonlight
grey light shimmers on these leaves
in the air and all around
I want to see the sunrise
on your faces as you fall
History calls us Witches
But the forest calls us home
They killed all the beasts they found
and their foes buried in the ground
lost their majick to modern scriptures
followed the lies of the neon pictures
Burned their forests for towers of light
censored the truth and forgot how to fight
squander their lives in boxes of grey
ignore all these signs but still they pray
blazed across my memories
cemetery moonlight
grey light shimmers on these leaves
in the air and all around
I want to see the sunrise
on your faces as you fall
History calls us Heathens
But the forest calls us home

Jordan Vauvert
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022
